What are the responsibilities and job description for the Metalsmithing/ Bench Jeweler / Eyewear Manufacturing position at Westchester Eyes?
Bench Jeweler/Product Development Management/ Eyewear Manufacturing
· Creation and maintenance of product plans throughout various stages of development, ensuring accuracy of item detail
· Provide manufacturing process expertise/direction on projects requiring updated processes, new technology or material implementation, and new products to ensure cost effective manufacturability at highest quality levels. Ensure new processes are documented
· Utilize fine jewelry expertise in bridging sophisticated craftsmanship with precious metals/gemstones to optical and eyewear projects developed in-house
· Source precious metals/gemstones to be incorporated into product portfolio
· Ensure critical details within category architectures are systematically maintained and project milestones are met on a timely basis
· Initiate new product development; research product offerings to ensure the product strategy remains robust and competitive
· Analyze classification, price point and sales trends to inform decisions on new product
· Conduct competitive market research on a regular basis
· Ideate and realize proprietary brand identities for collections of optical and eyewear products, tiered pricing structures and custom 1/1 offerings
· Aid with execution and implementation of margin reviews and pricing structure strategies to ensure margin requirements are met for the formal price setting process
· Analyze product portfolio and gather comparable product information to inform retail, cost and margin targets as well as final retails for new products
Sales & Business Development Management:
· Model pricing scenarios for optimization, validating pricing based on sales volume and margin drivers to inform decisions
· Consult face-to-face with local clientele to discern custom project needs and close sales after finalizing appropriate order specifications
· Field leads to generate domestic private-label manufacturing business
Additional Responsibilities:
· Actively create action plans and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Coordinate, manage, and maintain security of samples/stock according to inventory control process requirements
· Partner with 3rd party vendors or subcontractors to resolve production needs and ensure strategies are properly executed
· Work safely at all times by consistently following safe work procedures in lab/shop, as well as all safety procedures required on site. Promptly report all incidents and safety issues to business owner. Adhere to all safety requirements.
· Perform root cause analysis when needed and provide an applicable action plan.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $36.00 per hour
