N2 position - Lactation Consultant/Charge Nurse

Summary: The Regional Perinatal Coordinator (RPC) will assist in providing for the management of patient care by means of clinical expertise gained in a specialized aspect of nursing care for the Peri-natal patient/department. Responsibilities will include:

Manages the NYS RPC Grant and Contract:

1. Coordinates with finance and provider groups for contracts and grants
2. Coordinate grant reports submissions
3. Prepare all grant invoices for sign off
4. Coordinate grant and contract renewals
5. Maintain primary contract with the NYS grant staff; oversee all grant data
6. Meet deadlines for grant submissions and write quarterly reports
7. Manage budget to grant parameters

Performance Improvement

1. Identify and evaluate outcomes of RPC grant contracts
2. Work with the VP for MFCH, Medical Leaders, Director of Quality and Safety on quality improvement activities for the RPC
3. Assure that all appropriate parties have quality data and can speak tot eh outcomes

Outreach

1. Represent WMC Health to the PRC affiliates. Is the face of the RPC
2. Coordinate and attend the quarterly meetings at each affiliate
3. Assess affiliate programmatic and educational needs and help to meet affiliate needs
4. Assess transfer and other data and recommend improvement activities
5. Accept requests from affiliates for information and help and direct appropriately

Data Bases

1. Supervise the RPC staff that input data
2. Oversee the databases and data management of the RPC

Administrative

1. Support and adhere to hospital policies, procedures, philosophy and mission of WMC Health
2. Interpret and implement policies and procedures
3. Supervise and direct staff and functions consistent with HR policies and grant requirement

Training and Experience: Must have a minimum of one year of professional nursing experience.

License - Current licensure in New York State as a Registered Professional Nurse. Certified in Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association. Other certifications as required in a specialty area.
