Job Summary:
- To oversee daily safety of bus drivers, bus monitors and aides
- Assist with maintaining the Versa Trans routing and planning software in dispatch
- Perform other duties required and assigned by the Director of Transportation
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily activity of the drivers, aides and monitors
- Work closely with the Student Safety Committee, elementary and secondary schools to continue programs for safety and security procedures for students on the buses
- Maintain State of RI compliance on all employees, keeping files updated
- Schedule training programs for the drivers, aides and monitors
- Maintain and assist with the Versa Trans routing and planning software
- Keep daily dispatch information accurate including driver and vehicle assignments
- Assist in dispatch as needed
- Verify payroll daily
- Follow the procedures and policies of the Westerly Public Schools and perform other duties required and assigned by the District Transportation Director
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years experience, such as may have been gained through employment in an office setting, including clerical duties and independent handling of day to day operations, preferably in school bus dispatch
- Microsoft Office and data input
- Skills:
- Must hold a valid RI CDL license with a “P” and “S” endorsement
- Must be able to multitask in a fast paced environment
- A thorough knowledge of office methods, practices, procedures and terms; ability to gather information, maintain records and product reports; ability to exercise a high degree of initiative and good judgment
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must provide a current national background check without disqualifying results at time of hire.
Salary : $54,000 - $57,000
