We are seeking a passionate, creative, and dedicated early elementary teachers (there will be six of this position) to facilitate a half-day STEM camp focused on astronomy, ecology, and agriculture. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, a love for STEM subjects, and the ability to engage young learners through hands-on activities and interactive lessons. This position will require collaboration with other camp staff, as well as ongoing communication with parents and administration to ensure the academic and emotional success of each student. Half-day schedule; specific hours may vary depending on camp schedule. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position
Degree in Elementary Education, STEM education, or Early Childhood Education. Thorough understanding of current educational pedagogy and curriculum development, communication and classroom management skills, proficiency in utilizing technology for teaching, ability to differentiate instruction based on student needs, and demonstrated commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, STEM Education, or a related field.
Teaching certification or eligibility for certification in the state of NC.
Strong understanding of childhood development, particularly in the K-2 age range.
Experience or strong interest in teaching STEM subjects (astronomy, ecology, agriculture).
Ability to create and implement hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences for young children.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including experience working with parents and staff.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
Experience in or willingness to mentor interns and work collaboratively with colleagues.
Teaching certification or eligibility for certification in the state of NC.
