Job Summary: We're seeking a passionate and accomplished Director of Engineering to join our team. This role partners with the Vice President of Engineering to lead our Corporate Engineering group. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical foundation in an engineering discipline, demonstrated leadership skills, and a history of achieving success in a dynamic manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Guide and inspire the Corporate Engineering team, fostering an environment that embraces our company culture and mission.
- Team Building: Mentor and develop engineering staff, encouraging professional growth and skill enhancement.
- Project Oversight: Lead engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and to budget.
- Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and oversight to engineering teams across multiple plant locations, supporting maintenance and continuous improvement activities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, quality, contractors and equipment suppliers to ensure seamless integration of engineering solutions
- Operational Excellence: Champion a culture of continuous improvement in our manufacturing processes, with a focus on boosting efficiency, enhancing quality, and cost reduction.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all engineering activities comply with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related field.
- 10 years of experience in engineering, preferably with a focus on PET preform and bottle manufacturing.
- 3 years of experience in a leadership role, managing engineering teams and projects.
- Proven track record of delivering successful engineering projects on time and within budget.
- Strong technical skills with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- A proven passion for safety, quality, and continuous improvement
- Knowledge of computer maintenance and continuous Improvement systems
