ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

We are seeking a Technologist with a strong background in SSD design hardware design Product Management Memory Systems and / or system architecture to lead the development of nextgeneration SoC solutions.
Candidates must have either an M.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 7 years of experience or a Ph.D. with 5 years .
The ideal candidate will have proven SSD experience handson expertise with ASIC and / or firmware indepth knowledge of PCIe standards and SoC architecture .
Proven expertise in hardware design including NVMe DDR power supplies and systemlevel integration is required.
Strong debugging skills using tools like PCIe protocol analyzers and oscilloscopes are essential. Proficiency in programming with C / C and Python is preferred.
This role demands a highly motivated individual who can troubleshoot complex issues analyze emerging technologies and make critical design decisions.

Qualifications : REQUIRED :

Education :

M.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 7 years of experience in an engineering development environment OR

Ph.D. in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 5 years of experience.

Experience :

Proven expertise in SSD design hardware design ASIC Design

Strong experience in system design and architecture for SSD products.

Demonstrated ability to architect and design nextgeneration SoC solutions including evaluating tradeoffs in performance power and area.

Handson experience in hardware design involving components such as NVMe DDR power supplies and other SSDspecific hardware.

Soft Skills :

Highly organized selfmotivated and resultsdriven.

Strong multitasking abilities and adaptability to dynamic environments.

PREFERRED :

Technical Expertise :

Extensive handson experience with Firmware and / or ASIC design .

Indepth knowledge of SoC architecture and nextgeneration design principles.

Advanced understanding of PCIe standards and processor architectures like ARM / ARC .

Debugging :

Expertlevel skills with PCIe protocol analyzers oscilloscopes and related lab equipment.

Firmware / Hardware Skills :

Proven ability to write / debug firmware in C / C and Python .

Expertise in hardware design for SSD systems including boardlevel and systemlevel integration.

An employees pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills ability knowledge of the job; (3) performance contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.

The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California Colorado New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California Colorado and New York. This range may be modified in the future.

You will be eligible to participate in Western Digitals ShortTerm Incentive (STI) Plan which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance. Depending on your role and your performance you may be eligible to participate in our annual LongTerm Incentive (LTI) program which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan. Please note that not all roles are eligible to participate in the LTI program and not all roles are eligible for equity under the LTI plan. RSU awards are also available to eligible new hires subject to Western Digitals Standard Terms and Conditions for Restricted Stock Unit Awards.
