We’re seeking a Front Desk Agent for our hotel in downtown Colorado Springs. This position is responsible for maintaining and promoting hospitality at all times; welcoming and serving our guests in a courteous, efficient, and friendly manner, both face-to-face and on the phone. Front Desk Agents make the first impression by extending welcome and providing information about the hotel and local area to our guests. Front Desk Agents are also responsible for settling guest accounts upon check-out, resolving guest issues and completing special requests when necessary for our guests.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Check guests in and out in an efficient and friendly manner
- Approach all encounters with guests and associates in a friendly service-oriented manner.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
- Comply at all times with company standards and procedures.
- Initiate and complete daily processes as required.
- Promptly, effectively, and empathetically assist with guest requests and complaints
- Maintain proper record keeping.
- Complete any reports as requested by management.
- Develop a thorough staff, room locations, room rates, amenities, and selling strategies.
- Completes, balances, and reports all night audit reports pertaining to all outlets of the hotel (i.e. guest rooms, amenities store, extra charges, etc.)
- Assist with early morning coffee requests, and cold item set-up of breakfast.
- Periodic walks of floors throughout shift to ensure cleanliness of hallways.
- Be knowledgeable of the local area, including: shopping, entertainment, and dining.
- Take reservation requests efficiently.
- Post guest charges and compute guest bills, collect payment, and make change for hotel guests following all cash handling procedures.
- Perform any other duties as requested by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
- At least 1 year of experience in a hotel required.
- High School diploma required.
- Must be able to work some weekends and holidays.
Preferred
- Knowledge of front desk operations and procedures, guest services, and hotel services (preferred)
- Possess proficient computer skills including proficient knowledge of MS Office products (preferred)
- General cash handling procedures and knowledge of computerized cash register systems
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Proficiently speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language; ability to speak other languages (desired)
- Strong communication skills and ability with multiple departments/individuals
- Ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations and execute emergency procedures
- Able to work in fast paced environment
- Able to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks while maintaining high attention to detail
- Able to work independently and desire to participate as part of a teamCreate sense of urgency in matters that will impact the success of the business
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Weekends as needed
