What are the responsibilities and job description for the Athletic Advising Coordinator position at Western Kentucky University?
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides academic advisement and support to student-athletes for assigned sports
- Monitors student-athletes' academic Progress Toward Degree (PTD) for eligibility purposes
- Evaluates transcripts and academic reports to determine student-athletes' initial and continuous eligibility
- Supervises the academic center during study hours for all student-athletes
- Maintains academic records for assigned student-athletes
- Prepares academic reports for coaches and the SASC department head
- Assists with the coordination of the SASC mentoring program
- Participates in the recruiting process by providing prospective student-athletes and their parents with information concerning academic support services offered at WKU
- Assists with the development, coordination, and implementation of programs and services offered for student-athletes
- Serves as transfer advisor and liaison to transfer center
- Coordinates recruiting visits and serves as contact for academic departments as recruiting coordinator
- Creates and maintains recruiting materials for prospective student-athletes
- Performs additional duties as requested by the Assistant AD/Director of Student Athlete Success Center

- Bachelor's degree and experience providing academic support

Salary Range: $36,000 - $38,000
