What are the responsibilities and job description for the Learning Systems Analyst position at Western Kentucky University?
The Learning Systems Analyst plays a pivotal role in providing support for the University's Learning Management System (LMS), Blackboard, as well as various other systems that support the academic mission of the University. This analyst's responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks, including but not limited to:
- Troubleshooting technical problems
- Installing modules
- Documenting software purchases
- Communicating with campus entities, 3rd party vendors, co-workers, and peers at other institutions.
In addition to these duties, the role involves collaborating with clients, 3rd party vendors, and peers at other institutions to comprehensively understand and optimize the learning experience. The objective is to enhance the teaching and learning experience and contribute to student success. The specific duties may evolve over time, reflecting management discretion and institutional needs.
Where You Will Make an Impact
- Provide 3rd level support to WKU entities using enterprise applications, such as Blackboard, Anthology Illuminate, Qualtrics, and other assigned applications.
- Develop and perform routine maintenance plans for applications.
- Develop online help materials and video tutorials for WKU entities on assigned applications.
- Develop and maintain documentation on support and training of assigned applications.

Plays an active role in application upgrade processes, which involves the following:
- Extensive testing of new/existing services and tool
- Assist in planning any necessary software upgrades.
- Configure test and development environments.
- Collaborate with necessary entities on affected auxiliary services and applications.
- Assist in developing communication plans.
- Provision users on assigned applications.
- Help administer configuration and settings of assigned applications, including Blackboard LTIs, APIs, and other integrations.
- Identify and recommend standards for supporting applications and training users.
- Provide internal and external metrics as needed, such as application usage and support/training tasks.
- Additional duties as assigned by management.

Additional Information:
Salary Range: $46,000 - $52,000
