Job Description
The Digital Media Content Specialist supports marketing and communication efforts, focusing primarily on social media and digital content development for the website and other platforms. This role reports to the Assistant Director for Marketing Communications. In this service-oriented role, the successful candidate will monitor user activity, interpret and analyze engagement and performance, and respond accordingly.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
The following duties are customary for this position, but are not to be construed as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs.
Salary: $46,100
Kentucky state law requires all public institutions of postsecondary education to conduct pre-employment criminal background checks to determine suitability for employment.

Job Description
The Digital Media Content Specialist supports marketing and communication efforts, focusing primarily on social media and digital content development for the website and other platforms. Primary Duties And Responsibilities

- Create content and provide support for social media campaigns, marketing campaigns, institutional weather and crisis communication plans, written features, university events, and other official university communications.
- Develop and manage content calendar across institutional social media platforms to support the university's strategic plan, drive engagement, attract prospective students, and retain current students.
- Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with University Marketing staff and key university stakeholders (e.g. academic college content coordinators) on writing, photography, videography, and digital graphics projects.
- Evaluate overall campaign performance, identify opportunities to evolve the marketing strategy, and implement SEO, accessibility, and content optimization strategies.
- Utilize social listening to monitor brand mentions and deliver customer service.
- Provide consultations, audits, and plan/campaign development assistance for campus offices in matters of social media marketing.
- Work closely with student interns, student social media ambassadors, or similar student support to implement the University's content strategies.
- Ability to plan, schedule, and prioritize work activities and assignments to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in meeting deadlines, along with the ability to multi-task.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal communication skills, including excellent listening, written, and verbal abilities, to work effectively with individuals across varying roles and experiences.
- Possess computer literacy and proficiency, including the Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Demonstrate the ability to execute tasks, collaborate effectively, communicate professionally, and adapt to stressful environments or sudden changes in tasks with limited notice.
- Possess hands-on experience with content creation for social media platforms (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.)
- Possess social media listening skills, decision making and problem-solving skills, and judgement to identify and monitor crisis situations.
- Ability to utilize a smartphone to capture photo and video content.
- Ability to spend specific periods of time at a computer workstation.
- Able to travel and work in standard office conditions.
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience managing social media in a professional environment
- Experience writing for the web and/or developing digital content
