We are seeking a highly motivated Local Dispatcher / Customer Service Representative to join our team. This role requires strong multitasking skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and excellent communication abilities. You will be responsible for coordinating deliveries, assisting customers, and ensuring smooth operations for our local dispatching department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer & Driver Communication: Handle heavy phone calls and emails, responding to customer inquiries and assisting drivers and vendors.
- Order Issue Resolution: Address and resolve any issues related to orders, deliveries, and pickups.
- Driver Coordination: Guide and provide directions to drivers, ensuring timely deliveries.
- Delivery Scheduling: Coordinate and schedule pickup/delivery dates while adjusting routes as needed.
- Dispatching System Usage: Use our dispatching program to view order information and as a reference when drivers call, ensuring accurate and efficient responses.
- Order Tracking & Follow-Up: Monitor shipments, track deliveries, and keep customers informed.
- Data Entry & Documentation: Maintain accurate records, input data into systems, and handle clerical tasks (running reports, spreadsheets, filing, scanning, copying).
- Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot and proactively manage delivery and operational challenges.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Customer Service Experience: Strong ability to interact professionally with customers, drivers, and vendors.
- Dispatching & Logistics Experience: Preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
- Geographical Knowledge: Familiarity with Metro NY/NJ (Tri-State Area) and ability to read maps, including East Coast states.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with high accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, and comfortable handling emails and dispatching software.
- Team Player & Independent Worker: Able to collaborate in a team environment but also work independently when needed.
- Fast-Paced Environment: Comfortable managing multiple priorities under time constraints.
- Bilingual (Preferred but Not Required): Must speak, write, and read English. Spanish-speaking ability is a plus.
- Reliable Transportation: Must have own transportation for commuting purposes.
- Hours: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (or until finished) – Must be flexible with overtime and willing to stay late when necessary
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
