The Co-Responder plays a key role in providing immediate, compassionate support to individuals experiencing crises related to mental health, substance use, or behavioral challenges. The Co-Responder will respond to community calls, offering guidance, mentorship, and support to those in need.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to crisis situations in collaboration with law enforcement to assess individuals’ needs and provide effective interventions.
- Conduct assessments to identify mental health or substance use issues, and develop personalized action plans.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to engage clients and foster positive behavior change.
- Provide addiction counseling and ongoing support for individuals struggling with substance use disorders.
- Connect clients to essential behavioral health services, including Medicare resources and Section 8 housing assistance.
- Mentor clients through the recovery process, offering guidance and supporting their navigation of available resources.
- Supervise and collaborate with team members to ensure holistic and coordinated care.
- Document interactions, assessments, and referrals accurately, adhering to organizational policies and standards.
Qualifications
- Experience in addiction counseling or behavioral health.
- Strong skills in crisis intervention and management are essential.
- A background in social work or a related field is preferred.
