General Summary
Teaching multiple sections of Computer Information Systems courses including CIS 2500 Data Analytics for Business course.
Major Duties
- Teaching multiple sections of Computer Information Systems courses including CIS 2500 Data Analytics for Business course.
- Additionally, the department may arrange for the instructor to teach CIS 1020 Introduction to Business Computing and Data Analysis, CIS 2640 Applied Analytics Foundations, CIS 2650 Programming for Data Analytics (Python Programming) or other CIS courses when needed.
- In addition, the instructor is expected to participate in departmental activities and create class lessons, assignment and activities that are consonant with the master syllabus of the mentioned courses.
- Services to the department, college, university, as well as appropriate maintenance of AACSB qualification credentials, are required.
- Services to the community is expected.
Minimum Qualifications
- The applicant shall possess a minimum of a Master’s degree in CIS, IS, MIS or the related field from an accredited institution.
- Candidate must have at least 5-year experience in teaching undergraduate CIS/IS courses and must meet 2024 AACSB faculty qualification standards.
- At least two years of industry work experience as a software analyst/programmer in business (including non-profits) outside of academia is required.
Desired Qualifications
- Besides teaching experience in Information technology courses, teaching experience in a wide array of courses in Business Statistics, Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems are desirable.
- Experience in student recruitment at High Schools and Community Colleges and organizing large events are also desired.
- Work experience as a technical writer is a plus.
