General Summary
Western Michigan University invites applications for the position of Faculty Specialist I, Occupational Therapy. The position is non-tenure with a yearly review and opportunities for advancement.
Major Duties
- Teach courses relevant to the candidate’s expertise offered to students enrolled in the occupational therapy bachelor’s and doctorate degree programs.
- Work with the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator to support students’ Level I and II fieldwork.
- Mentor and advise students.
- Participate in curricular revisions and support the assessment of student learning.
- Provide service to the department, the college, the university, and the community.
- Participate in inter-professional teaching and service.
Minimum Qualifications
- OTD, Ed.D, or Ph.D. preferred; exceptional applicants with a master’s degree will be considered.
- At least two years of clinical experience as a licensed practitioner.
- Experience in teaching course content or providing guest lecture in higher education.
- Experience supporting students in their fieldwork.
- Knowledge of curriculum design, teaching strategies, and assessment of student learning.
