Western Motorcoach is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Driver Manager/Dispatcher. Job Responsibilities included but were not limited to the following:
· Guardian of drivers’ safety and promote high expectations of productivity.
· Manage and supervise daily operations of the driver team, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
· Oversee all aspects of development, implementation, and management of DOT and FMCSA compliance Regulations.
· Coordinate dispatching activities, including route planning and scheduling to maximize efficiency.
· Analyze transportation performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.
· Foster strong communication between drivers, safety, mechanics, and management to ensure seamless operations.
· Develop training programs for drivers on best practices in logistics and fleet management.
· Monitovehicles'' safety, registered, tagged, titled, inspection, and maintenance program to comply with state, federal DOT, and FMCSA standards.
- Audit driver e-logs to ensure they are current, monitor driver hours of service records for accuracy, and ensure that the driver is doing the pre-trip and pre-trip inspection.
- Oversaw drivers' safety both in the yard and on the road. Analyze safety metrics, review GPS/Camera on vehicles, and report weekly incidents to discover trends. Rationalize the allocation of appropriate resources and update training/processes if needed in areas where the safety risk is highest. Train drivers on all safety-sensitive issues as required.
· Ensure overall compliance with various company policies, such as driver uniforms, electronic device use, phone compliance, and attendance.
· Fill in as a Dispatcher when required; perform on-call as needed after hours and for the no-show.
· Dispatching daily bus drivers and vehicle assignments, last-minute reservations, changing and solving real-time overload situations, assigning substitute drivers to routes, and filling vacancies for drivers who call out or do not show up.
· Proficient in map reading skills. Give directions and maps as needed to drivers. Ensure trip documentation is completed correctly and ready for the drivers promptly.
· Dispatch all scheduling and departures on time to deliver quality. Ensure on-time performance for the customers is achieved successfully.
· Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules to ensure fleet reliability and safety.
· Inspect and manage wash crew job performance to ensure they follow company cleaning guidelines and that all buses are clean and ready before daily trips.
· Overseeing and implementing the Crash Management process, including coordinating reporting, investigation, management of incidents, and documentation compliant with DOT regulations.
· Ability to respond to all incidents and accidents. You must conduct investigation procedures on the scene and post-accident.
- Reviewed and proposed corrective actions with management, recommended changeability and retraining, and maintained accident file contents for accuracy and compliance with FMCSA regulations.
· Monthly analysis and valuation of the company performance, and provide implementation and suggestions for management improvement to enhance safety, reduce company risk, and minimize company violations.
· Provide ongoing driver training, monitor training and organizational effectiveness, and recommend changes in training, organizational process, or organizational structure to strengthen the organization and its ability to attain business goals.
· Work above regular working hours when workloads and seasonal activities are encountered.
Qualification Requirements:
· College graduate and/or experience in the transportation industry preferred.
· 6 years of transportation industry experience, specifically motorcoach. Roven's experience as a Safety and Compliance Manager.
· At least 3 years of driver manager experience.
· Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Present information effectively and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the general public.
· Must have advanced problem-solving skills, strong critical thinking, quick decisions, and independent judgment to resolve issues promptly.
· Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail and a demonstrated track record of achievement.
· The ability to work within deadlines and time management skills, handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, work with frequent interruptions, work under pressure, and prioritize while maintaining composure and responding appropriately to customers.
· Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
· Handle multiple projects simultaneously while managing 7 days/week operations.
· Energetic, dependable, hardworking, and willing to go the extra step to accept and support company operations, processes, and systems.
· Must be willing to travel if required. Just having a valid driver's license is a plus!
· Must maintain cell phone to be available should an emergency occur.
· Must be available for on-call rotation and willing to work weekends and holidays as the employer determines necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
· Interact cooperatively and collaboratively with others as a team and be able to work independently.
· Must pass a criminal, drug, and alcohol test.
Skills/Knowledge Requirement:
· Must have In-depth knowledge of safety rules, state and federal laws, and DOT regulations and guidelines.
· FMCSA Compliance Training Certificate.
· Experience in implementing driver training programs.
· Diligent with an analytical mind. nalysis and identification of risk trends, problems, and solutions.
