What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator/Project Manager position at Western Municipal Construction, Inc.?
Responsibilities:
- Analyze project drawings and specifications to accurately estimate materials, labor, and equipment required for a construction project
- Utilize software such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid to prepare cost estimates
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements
- Develop detailed cost estimates and proposals for new projects
- Monitor and control costs throughout the project lifecycle
- Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing
- Review and interpret contracts to ensure compliance with agreed-upon terms
- Coordinate with construction and project management teams to ensure accurate budgeting
Requirements:
- Proven experience in construction estimating within the industry - must have at least five years in estimating underground utilities projects (water, sewer, and storm drain) and heavy civil projects.
- Proficiency in using HCSS HeavyBid
- Experience with project management software such as Procore
- Strong understanding of cost control principles in construction projects
- Ability to interpret project plans, drawings, and specifications
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with subcontractors and suppliers
- Knowledge of project management and construction management processes
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in estimating costs for projects
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
