Western National is seeking an Executive Claims Representative to join our team!
The individual in this role will have the opportunity to investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve multiline insurance claims and be recognized as a subject matter expert.
What are the responsibilities and opportunities of this role?
- Handles highly complex and large exposure claims.
- Ensures customer service excellence.
- Establishes and reviews proper reserves for each claim based upon thorough investigation, evaluation, and experience while maintaining appropriate reports to ensure status of claims are clearly documented.
- Serves as technical consultant and subject matter expert to business partners and other claims representatives.
- Identifies coverage issues and writes coverage position letters.
- Provides timely and effective reporting to reinsurers, as needed.
- Identifies and communicates reserving and industry activities and trends.
- Regularly makes decisions and takes independent action on matters affecting the department.
- Participates in strategy development.
- Identifies, develops, and initiates innovations and solutions where precedents and procedures may not exist.
- Analyzes decisions and actions for their support of the larger area's strategic direction.
- Regularly contacts customers (policyholders, claimants, and agents) as well as employees across the organization.
- Regularly contacts outside vendors.
- Assists with building and supporting agency and vendor relationships.
- Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
What are the must-have qualifications for a candidate?
- 10-plus years of demonstrated technical expertise in complex claims of high exposure and / or specialty areas.
- Demonstrated and in-depth knowledge of applicable state laws, regulations, policies, and practices.
- Ability to multitask and solve problems.
- Proficient use of various core systems, office and computer equipment, and software packages.
What will our ideal candidate have?
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with ability to tailor appropriately to audience.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent analytical, tracking, and monitoring skills with ability to collect and analyze data, identify trends, establish facts, and recommend solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree or related experience.
- CPCU certification.
Compensation overview
The targeted hiring range for this role is $81,400 - $111,980, annually. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on the job-related knowledge, skills, credentials, and experience of each candidate as well as other factors such as the scope and location of the role. Candidates looking for compensation outside of the posted range are encouraged to apply and will be considered based on their individual qualifications and / or may be considered for other positions.
