Position Summary:
Public Safety Officers play a vital role in fostering a secure campus environment for students, employees, and visitors. Officers are responsible for deterring and responding to criminal activity, handling emergencies, providing medical assistance, conducting investigations, enforcing state and local laws, and upholding university policies and codes of conduct. Additional responsibilities include building security, crime prevention programs, event security, parking enforcement, and public assistance.
This position requires flexibility to work any shift as part of a 24/7 coverage team. Officers have the authority to make arrests based on probable cause, issue trespass notices, and collaborate with local law enforcement on crime investigations. In addition to security duties, officers provide assistance with medical and vehicle-related incidents, crowd control, and emergency response.

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Driver’s license
- CPR Certification
- First Aid Certification
- Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Certification
- National Incident Management System (NIMS) Training:
- ICS 100: Introduction to the Incident Command System
- ICS 200: Basic Incident Command System for Initial Response
- ICS 700: National Incident Management System (NIMS) Overview
- ICS 800: National Response Framework (NRF) Overview
