Job Summary
The Technology Support Technician is responsible to the Director of Technology Services and works in close cooperation with faculty and staff to provide planning, coordination, maintenance, and training connected to the college's computer services. This position will answer Help Desk calls for computer support as well as audio / video setups.
In partnership with Technology Services Division personnel and management, will provide support with respect to :
- Planning, implementation, and evaluation of college-wide information systems and technologies.
- Planning and development of college-wide information systems standards, and usage guidelines.
- Provide user support in accordance with the needs of the College ERP system such as Colleague User Creation, End User Sign Up Web Forms, Colleague Security Updates and Password Changes.
- Assist other Technology Division personnel with supporting the usage of other partner application systems such as Document Imaging.
- Provide Help Desk coverage assisting students, faculty, and staff with technology needs such as making IDs, login issues, and password changes.
- Assist with IT Support at FHEC and other locations as needed.
- Monitor, identify, and recommend emerging technologies as it relates to equipment and software to ensure they meet college standards.
- Provide orientation and training to faculty and staff as it relates to all Information Systems.
- Implement College policy as it applies to Technology Services.
- Crosstrain in other areas of technology (e.g PC Maintenance, Networking Services, A / V Services) as needed by the College and Technology Services.
- Serve on College committees as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology Services.
Hiring range ($3,185 - $3,451 / monthly)
Minimum Qualifications
1. Minimum two-year degree in Information Systems or Technology Services.
2. Experience in technology support services.
3. Should be creative, adaptable and have ability to work well under pressure.
4. Ability to relate to faculty, staff, students, and community members in a congenial and professional manner.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Preferred four-year degree in Information Technology.
2. Experience in all areas of Technology Support such as Microsoft Office 365, backup and restore procedures, telephone system support, script writing, and server support.
