What are the responsibilities and job description for the Risk Management & Contract Management Specialist position at Western Reserve?
Provides a comprehensive Risk and Contract Management Program for Western Reserve Hospital and its subsidiary, WRH Physicians, Inc. Analyzes problem situations, takes corrective action, communicates and interacts effectively with all levels of the organization. Serves as liaison between insurance carrier, organizational committees, medical staff, administration, patients, etc. Maintains a direct referral system for hospital staff to report potential claims. Develops reports to maintain compliance with Federal and State Laws. Manages contracts throughout their lifecycle utilizing the hospital’s electronic management system in accordance with policies and procedures. Serves as the main point of contact for support and training for all hospital department leaders regarding contract management and use of electronic management system.
Education and Training
Bachelor’s degree in related field required. RN licensure in the state of Ohio or current multi state RN licensure recognized by the State of Ohio and/or legal/paralegal degree preferred. Experience may be substituted for degree requirement.
Experience
One (1) – three (3) years experience in risk management or related field to include claims investigation, client interaction, general liability claims and preparation of legal documents including discovery completion. Experience in a medical setting a plus.
Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications
General knowledge and understanding of the US legal system and litigation process, word processing and Microsoft applications.
