What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction / Project Manager position at Western States Water?
Western States Reclamation is a premier restoration contractor in the Western United States with over 200 team members. WSR has covered every corner of the industry including wildfire rehabilitation, oil and gas pipelines, wind and solar farms, highways and railroads, river restoration, building parks and public open spaces. WSR is currently hiring Construction / Project Manager to supervise multiple construction projects. Coordinate with estimating and project management teams to organize and execute on installation plans for projects including earthwork, concrete work, asphalt paving, underground utilities, minor structures, pedestrian bridges, erosion control and revegetation. Project sizes vary from $50K to $4M for a single contract.
Essential Functions:
- Coordinate, implement, and manage all facets of a project while maintaining quality and safety standards
- Maintain client expectations throughout the course of the project, up to collecting the final payment from client
- Manage 3-4 crews, as well as multiple subcontractors from morning preparation to end of day close out
- Provide consistent on-site production crew training and evaluation of proper installation techniques to ensure safety and quality
- Communicate with Superintendents, Foremen, and Project Managers on crew efficiencies and forecasting additional labor, material, or equipment as needed
- Communicate with production crews on job progress and next day needs
- Coordinate with the purchasing on the ordering of project materials
- Review project plans, specifications, drawings, geotechnical reports, and permits
- Work closely with Project Managers and subcontractors to promote the understanding of the scope of work, changes, potential requests for information, and any adjustments to cost estimates prior to proposal submission

- Knowledge of conversion factors and unit weights of all related construction materials commonly utilized in the industry (various aggregates, soils, concrete, asphalt, rip rap, rebar, pipe, etc.)
- Ability to prepare/price water control, diversion and dewatering plans
- Computer estimating skills, including Bid2Win Software (comparable to HCSS Heavy Bid), Bluebeam, and AGTEK
- Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel and MS Project
- Ability to effectively apply estimating techniques and cost controls, and to interpret computerized cost data and systems
- Knowledge of private, City, County, Denver Water, MHFD, SEMSWA, CDOT, State Parks, USFS, Army Corp of Engineer s, Division of Dams and Airport specifications, with a proven track record of bringing in contracts on time and within budget
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor s Degree in construction management or engineering (Preferred)
- 3 years construction management (Required)
- English and Spanish fluency a plus
License/Certification:
- Driver's License (Required)
- Pass a drug screen

Expected Hours of Work:
- This role is considered full-time working approximately 40 hours per week and is exempt from overtime

- 6 paid holidays per calendar year (New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas) after 30 days of employment
- 10 paid days off (PTO) per year. PTO will begin to accrue at a rate of one day per month after 60 days of employment

- 401K plan eligibility after 60 days of employment, with company matching up to 4%
- Health insurance eligibility on the 1st of the month following 30 days of employment. Currently, the company pays approximately 100% of the employee’s insurance under the standard plan. You may enroll in a PPO plan and add family member coverage for an additional charge
