In this role, you will use your expertise to accurately estimate civil construction project costs, develop competitive bids, and work closely with senior management to establish WSRI's reputation in the civil construction market. As a key player in our company's expansion, your proactive, innovative, and self-motivated approach will be invaluable in identifying new opportunities and providing insights for developing novel construction methodologies.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze construction project plans, specifications, and requirements to estimate costs accurately
- Develop and submit competitive bids and cost estimates
- Perform takeoffs and negotiate material quotes to enhance margins and competitiveness
- Maintain resource information related to products, vendors, subcontractors, and government requirements
- Collaborate with Finance to analyze completed project budgets and implement cost-saving measures
- Analyze bids to improve future projects and company performance
- Provide engineering and estimating support on awarded contracts, including change orders and material procurement
- Prepare prequalification(s) and bid packages, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Work closely with project managers to ensure project budgets and timelines are achievable
- Contribute to the development of bidding strategies and civil construction capabilities
- Identify new business opportunities and insights for developing new construction methodologies
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an estimator in civil construction
- Knowledge of construction materials, conversion factors, and unit weights
- Familiarity with Bid2Win Software (or comparable), Bluebeam, and AGTEK
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction estimating software
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Self-motivated, innovative, and able to work in a team environment
