What are the responsibilities and job description for the Large Animal Veterinary Assistant position at Western Veterinary Clinic?
The assistant will work under the direct supervision of the Veterinarians primarily in the large animal department.
· Assist veterinarian in care and treatment of large animal species primarily cattle and horses.
· Cleaning and maintenance of the large animal treatment areas including barn and corrals.
· Maintenance of the outdoor clinic equipment.
· Prepare for, assist during and clean up after farm calls with veterinarian.
· Outdoor duties include snow removal and mowing as needed.
· Treatment and care of hospitalized patients (primarily large animal species).
· Utilization of the computer program to access patient files for the purpose of inputting patient prescriptions/history/lab files, etc. This includes billing for the farm calls.
· May be required to assist in small animal department if needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
