This role supports and adds value to an efficient organization dedicated to quality care and exceptional service. The Kennel Assistant works closely with veterinarians and technicians to provide top-notch care to pets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides compassionate care to pets
- Receives animals, weighs them, and ensures proper identification and records their location
- Examines patients for external parasites and communicates effectively with owners
- Feeds animals as prescribed, monitors appetites, water intake, and fecal and urine production
- Recognizes and reports unusual conditions or abnormal behaviors and monitors pets for signs of distress or disease
- Assists with the administration of medications and provides pet restraint as needed
- Maintains the cleanliness of the hospital, cleans equipment and facilities, and prioritizes tasks efficiently
- Completes chore lists to maintain hospital cleanliness and appearance
Requirements:
- Animal care experience preferred
Work Environment:
- In-person work at a veterinary hospital
