What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Assistant Golf Professional position at Westfield Insurance?
The Golf Professional Support Assistant is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day golf operations at company's Country Club while building skills and experience associated with a career as a Golf Professional. The role works under close supervision of the Golf Professional and performs daily responsibilities which include golfer registration and point of sale operations in the golf shop. The role assists with the execution and development of Events and Golf Association programs.
This position is expected to work 40-45 hours per week. 2-3 shifts will be in the Golf Shop and additional shifts in Outside Ops, Tournament Ops, Lessons, and/or Junior Golf. Some benefits for this position include: practice and play privileges, uniform/ equipment allowance, PGA Dues paid, and PGA Seminars paid. Start date is flexible. Golf season at Westfield runs from April 1- November 30th. The pay rate is $20.00/hour.

- 0 - 2 years of experience in Golf Course Management or a related field.
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) and/or commensurate experience.
- Complies with all OSHA and company's safety/training/certification standards within required timeframes.
- Consistently reports to work on time and completes shifts, as scheduled.
- Performs regular operations of golf carts and/or other maintenance vehicles in order to accomplish other essential functions outlined above.
- Assists in the day-to-day golf operations at company's Country Club while building skills and experience associated with a career as a Golf Professional.
- Assists in the planning, coordination, and execution of corporate golf events.
- Greets members, employees, agents and guests and provides immediate attention as necessary in accordance with the Hospitality standards.
- Promotes interest and assists with the execution of all Country Club golf related events and Country Club Association events including Men's League, Women's 18-Hole Association and Corporate Intramural Association.
- Schedules tee times, registers golfers and remains current and familiar with golf products and apparel to provide sales knowledge to customers.
- Assists in providing instruction with the company's junior golf program, corporate lessons and private instruction.
- Participates in the development of teaching programs as directed including junior golf and group lessons.
- Assists with all golf club repairs, relationship with outside vendors related to repairs, and the billing of repairs.
