What are the responsibilities and job description for the Reading Interventionist - Long Term Sub position at Westford Public Schools?
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop and implement plans for students based on observations and/or assessmentsProvide targeted intervention to small groups of struggling readersUse formal and/or informal testing as diagnostic instruments in conjunction with the Reading Coordinator to evaluate referred studentsPrepare written assessments for presentation at IST and/or SPED meetingsParticipate in assessment and identification of students for reading interventionMaintain regular communication with classroom teachers about student progress and instructional plansMeet regularly with the Reading Coordinator to discuss students, concerns, and successes.Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings/professional developmentKeep appropriate records as developed by the Reading Coordinator and prepare feedback for meetings when requestedEvaluate effectiveness of procedures used with the student on an ongoing basisRegularly attend Instructional Support Team meetings to discuss targeted students.Participate in parent conferences as requestedAssist in the administration of the MCAS individually or in small groupsWork under the direction of a Literacy SpecialistPerform other duties that may fall within the scope of the positions as requested by administration
