As we continue growing, we will continue offering the best and most-affordable vacation options out there!Job DescriptionGeneral Summary of Duties: Under general supervision of the Director of Security, oversees personnel involved in establishing, promoting, and maintaining the Company’s security and property asset protection programs by performing duties personally or through subordinate Managers and Supervisors. Duties will also include the implementation, training and oversight for the department’s armed program. This list of duties and responsibilities is illustrative only of the tasks performed by this position, however, is not all-inclusive. Role and Responsibilities: (Includes but is not limited to the following)Assist the Director of Security with the oversight and management of the WGLV Security program, with a strong emphasis on Communications, Training & Development, Investigations and Special Events.Accurately develop and maintain and armed response program for the Security Department. This will include a firearms qualifications process, implementation of procedures and in-house firearms training, to ensure personal firearms proficiency.Liaison with federal, state, and local law enforcement or regulatory agencies, and counterparts of outside organizations for assistance on related investigations.Maintain excellent communication with fellow Team Members and Guests while assuring a positive and professional work environment; responsible for creating, practicing, supporting, and promoting Westgate’s Service Excellence Standards culture at all times; practice teamwork, support all Team Members and treat each with the same respect we treat Guests to create an energized, positive and productive work environment.Research and recommend professional training opportunities to maintain industry standards of technology, equipment and emergency response.Demonstrate knowledge of Hotel and Casino Security Operations.Assist in establishing, administering, and evaluating department policies and objectives, including standards and performance.Adapt and work extended hours, flex days off if needed or respond while off-duty if necessary, based on operational needs.Conduct interviewing, hiring, and processing of Security Department applicants.Assist in providing professional career development of subordinates through training and development programs.Assume the duties of subordinates as needed.Assume control of high stress, sensitive situations. Develop, interact, assist, and maintain a professional working relationship with other department management.Effectively communicate in English, in both oral and written forms; prepares and submits reports and memorandums as required; ability to investigate matters fairly and quickly while obtaining necessary information for the completion of reports; ability to read and write to competently generate and complete reports.Excel in a fast-paced environment.Fill in for the position of the Director of Security in his/her absence.Follow all rules, regulations, state, federal and local laws and ordinances, especially those related to the carrying of and use of a firearm.Maintain clear and open communication across all levels and departments.Maintain familiarity with all areas of the property.Maintain strict confidentiality of classified/sensitive information.Properly communicate via electronic, phone and radio means.Protect internal and external guests and Company assets.Read and timely respond to all emails and correspondence related to the department.Recommend changes to improve security operations.Responsible for directing subordinates, completing and reviewing performance reviews.Responsible for reviewing and editing of incident reports prepared by subordinates for completeness and accuracy.Review and respond to department administrative needs.Submits written reports of any breach of laws, regulations, policies, and procedures to the Executive Security Director.Testify in legal proceedings as needed.Undergo all required training and maintain a high level of expertise in all fields.Understand the philosophy of the Company and work effectively within it.Other duties as required.QualificationsPerformance Requirements: (Knowledge, skills and abilities)5 years of formal instructor experience in a military or law enforcement environment is preferred.5 years in certified instruction on use of force and defensive tactics is preferred.Ability to implement policies and procedures to effectively maintain oversight of the department’s armed program curriculum.Nevada Concealed Weapons Permit or law enforcement equivalent (HR-218) is preferred.Range Safety Officer (RSO) Certification is preferred.Certified armorer experience with firearms is preferred.Ability to build strong working relationships with local fire and police departments and other government entities.Ability to multi-task and problem solve in a fast-paced environment.Excellent customer service skills.Able to lead and mentor a team.Interpersonal skills to work effectively with all business contacts.Display a professional appearance and demeanor.Additional InformationExperience RequirementsPreferred experience and in-depth comprehensive knowledge in investigations, security and self-awareness training techniques, and threat mitigation.Must have working knowledge in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point.Must have or be able to obtain, within 6 months of hire, a Range Safety Officer (RSO) Certification.Ability to obtain and maintain CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in all forms.High school diploma or successful completion of a GED certificate.Must be at least 21 years of age.Preferred five (5) years of experience in casino security or law enforcement field.Minimum of five (5) years of proven management or training experience.Ability and experience to manage, supervise and develop staff talents to enhance teamwork, company image and cost-effective productivity.Must maintain a valid Gaming Work Card, Alcohol Awareness Card (TAM) and Nevada Driver License throughout employment. Must be able and willing to carry a firearm and maintain the appropriate firearms permit (CCW or HR-218)
