HB Security Officer
Primary Responsibilities: Provide security and emergency response services throughout the resort, ensuring that performance is within the guidelines of written procedures and resort philosophy. Enforce security and safety guidelines to safeguard resort and guest property. Investigate and document incidents of concern and properly respond to resolve issues of concern. Patrol hotel building, grounds and other areas on the resort as assigned, noting unusual circumstances, persons, and /or safety violations. Assist managers with security at hotel related functions; escort persons off property. Provide entry gate security.
Essential Duties:
1. Greet and welcome guests in a warm and friendly manner at all times.
2. Respond rapidly to all emergencies and manage crisis situations in an efficient and professional manner. Exhibit a calming demeanor and has the ability to manage emergency situations.

4. Conduct foot / mobile patrols of the resort and monitor entrance gates.
5. Investigation and fact finding inquires through short and long term observation, review of documentation, interviews and interrogations.
6. Accurately document incidents, inquires and investigations.
7. Answer phone, monitor security cameras and dispatch security officer.
8. Enforce security and safety guidelines to safeguard resort and guest property.
9. Coordinate and supervise special assignments.
10. Perform department administrative duties such as issuing keys, vehicle parking decals, locker, paychecks, etc.
11. Do vehicle, locker and parcel search and other duties relating to security or safety as directed.
12. Escort individuals off property.
13. Provide security at hotel related functions.
14. Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
Other Duties:
1. Train team members/leaders in other departments on safety and security issues.
Working Conditions:
1. Outdoors in various whether conditions patrolling resort.
2. Indoors in an office environment.
3. In a booth at the entry gate. (That may be affected by various weather conditions).
4. Travel throughout the resort
Work Hours:
1. Must be willing and able to work any and all shifts including weekends and holidays as determined Safety and Security Team Leaders
2. Must be able to work in excess of 40 hours per week as needed
3. Must be available to be recalled or held over for weather related emergencies (Tsunami, Hurricane, and Earthquake. Etc.)
Equipment Use:
1. Ability to use the telephone and radio.
2. Ability to use various office equipment including but not limited: copier machine, network camera system, fire panel.
3. Ability to use AED.
4. Drive a vehicle.
5. Ability to operate a utility vehicle or cart.
Mental and Physical Demands:
1. Ability to remain calm in emergency situations.
2. Able to manage stressful and challenging situations.
3. Able to stand, walk, bend and reach during most of shift.
4. Lift and carry up to 25-50lbs.
Communication Demands:
1. Must have the ability to communicate verbally to employees, managers and guests/clients.
2. Interviewing skills; write accurate reports and document investigations.
3. Ability to communicate over the phone or radio.
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
1. Successful completion of the “Initial Security Guard 8-Hour Training”
2. Must present a current Hawaii State Guard Card within 30 days of hire.
