BASIC PURPOSE : Supervise the daily tasks and activities of the housekeeping staff, ensuring all rooms are cleaned to the standards of Four-Diamond, Westin property. Promote a safe, accident-free work environment, and provide warm, genuine hospitality to achieve maximum guest satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

• Supervise the housekeeping staff; providing open communication, training, and performance feedback to ensure maximum quality and efficiency.
• Inspect the daily cleaning of the guest rooms, public areas, and back of the house. Ensure that the cleaning of guest rooms been completed in the allotted timeframe; actively help the team (hands on) to achieve this goal as needed.
• Maintain consistent communication with Front Desk personnel regarding room status and availability of clean rooms.
• Maintain thorough working knowledge of and ensure compliance with all property and Westin brand standards regarding Housekeeping operations. Ensure compliance with accident / loss prevention programs, standard operating procedures, and health / sanitation standards.
• Issue assignments to staff regarding cleaning projects to maximize staff effectiveness and thorough cleanliness of hotel.
• Respond to guest requests, concerns and problems to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Receive and accurately log items into Lost and Found, maintaining controls and proper procedure. Respond in timely fashion to guest inquiries regarding lost items. Return items in a manner that ensures guest satisfaction.
• Understand and be prepared to implement emergency procedures as necessary to ensure appropriate protection of the hotel, guests, staff and company assets.
• Assist the evening staff as necessary in the performance of duties to include : laundry, cleaning of hotel public space, turndown service, and trash removal.
• Supervise and perform other responsibilities as assigned.
• Actively contribute to a constructive and positive work environment, encourage teamwork, and contribute to high associate opinion survey scores within the department.
• Ensure uniform, grooming and overall appearance standards are maintained in Housekeeping staff. Exhibit high personal standards of uniform, appearance and grooming on a daily basis.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS :

HOURS REQUIRED : Scheduled days and times may vary based on need . Typically required to work five shifts and 40 or more hours per week
