The Maintenance Superintendent supervises and guides the activities of the Maintenance Organization, develop maintenance standards and procedures and monitor and control maintenance costs. The Maintenance Superintendent performs the primary thinking encompassed by this job description, complies with all Company policies and procedures, and fully supports Company goals of continuous improvement and operational excellence at strategic and tactical levels including reviewing area of responsibility for improvement opportunities to initiate projects or communicate ideas to management as well as active participation on project teams.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop maintenance organization to provide routine and preventative maintenance services to the facility on a seven day per week, twenty-four hour per day basis as needed to allow the Unit to meets its production goals.
- Communicates with subordinate supervisors daily for significant maintenance activities and provides required instructions.
- Monitor daily activities of maintenance organization insuring that equipment is maintained in a safe, cost effective manner. Tracks maintenance expenditures by development of maintenance manpower reports. Plans training programs for employees for Maintenance Department.
- Provides annual performance appraisals for subordinates.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Ten years maintenance experience in a chemical complex, including two years in a supervisory position.
- SAP and MS Office experience required.
