SUMMARY:
- Operates South Unit for the Manufacture, separation, purification, storage, processing and recovery of EDC, anhydrous HCL, and Ethylene; Storage and Transfer of Chlorine; Reprocessing of Intermediate Feedstock (Catoxid); Thermal destruction of chlorinated organic process vent streams.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operates equipment for the Manufacture, separation, purification, storage, processing and recovery of EDC, anhydrous HCL, and Ethylene; Storage and Transfer of Chlorine, Caustic soda, intermediate (Catoxid) feedstock; Reprocessing of Intermediate Feedstock (Catoxid); Thermal destruction of chlorinated organic process vent streams, within guidelines of the (WPS) Standard Operating Procedures of the individual areas.
- Cleans strainers and flame arrestors containing hazardous process solids, and packing materials. Places contents in a DOT approved hazardous waste storage drum, labels, and transports drums to the onsite hazardous drum storage area.
- Maintains housekeeping in Unit and cleans up after job tasks and properly disposes of waste materials. Tools and equipment are returned to normal storage.
- Completes other routine or assigned duties as necessary to meet EDC/VCM department production goals in a safe, environmentally sound, and cost effective manner.
- Request Maintenance employees prepare equipment, and signs in and out Maintenance workers.
- Record process area readings at least twice per shift. Pull and deliver all ISO Quality samples to the laboratory within one hour of the sample schedule.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Four year college degree
