Position: School Age Childcare Site Coordinator
Location: Westlake Elementary School
Additional Information:
220 days per year - 7 hours per day
School Year Hours (Instructional Days): 6:30 A.M. – 9:00 A.M. and 1:30 P.M. – 6:00 P.M.
Summer and Non-Instructional Day Hours: 7 hours per day between 7:00 A.M. – 6:00 P.M.
Starting Salary: $30,800.00 per year
Responsibilities:
- Supervise the facilitation of the school age program based on philosophy and mission - including day-to-dayoperations and special events.
- Supervise students, group, and all activities as assigned while exhibiting safe, healthy, developmentally appropriate practices.
- Encourage, engage and support students in all activities including supporting social/emotional needs.
- Model, implement and maintain positive behavior management techniques in accordance with district philosophy and mission.
- Supervise staff during program hours.
- Continue professional growth; attend all staff meetings and in-services.
- Adhere to Westlake Board of Education policies and procedures.
- Work cooperatively in a team environment with peer Site Coordinators in sharing responsibilities.
- Create a professional, harmonious and efficient work environment.
- Maintain program supplies and services.
- Maintain accurate attendance records.
- Provide accurate and timely information to supervisors.
- Share relevant resources and materials with supervisors, staff and parents.
- Maintain on-going communication with supervisors and staff.
- Establish and maintain regular and open communication with parents regarding children';s progress and behavior, as well as program updates.
- Establish and maintain on-going timely communication with building personnel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in education, recreation, human services, or related field. (Non-related degrees or commensurate professional experience accepted - with one year of full-time work experience with school age children in a group setting.)
- Demonstrated successful experience in program design and implementation.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with a professional attitude.
- Experience in staff supervision.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working with children with special needs.
Salary : $30,800
