Westminster-Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay is currently hiring a Dining Room Team Leader for Independent Living.

What will I do?
Our Dining Services Team Leader is responsible to lead and work with the Dining Room Team Members and Dining Services Supervisors to achieve resident satisfaction, excellent service, and perform the daily functions in the Dining Room. The Team Leader is responsible, with direction of the Dining Services or Supervisors, for leading and guiding the dining room team members [wait staff, cashiers, bartenders, and host teams]. The Team Leader must be able to make decisions independently regarding staffing and resident satisfaction issues, and will oversee Dining Room Team Member training. The Dining Room Team Lead will also serve in the capacity of the Dining Room Team Member.
- Ensures that all residents receive excellent dining service with attention to detail by walking the service areas, observing and directing staff, while still performing their job duties at the highest level.
- Ensures appearance standards are met and that all other department and community policies and procedures are adhered to
- Consistently exhibits a pleasant and cheerful demeanor when serving residents and team members.
- Represents Dining Services with a positive manner, using established Dining Customer Service Guidelines.
- Will help coordinates daily “Showtime" meetings utilizing weekly training goals to ensure proper service.
- Individually train new team members using the training program developed by the dining services team. Conducts group and individual training exercises to improve overall staff performance.
- Ensures compliance with all community cash handling policies and follows departmental procedures for recording of cash deposits.
- Ensures that the quality of food is maintained to department standards and that the service times are within established department parameters.
What do I need for this role?
- High School Graduate and Must be at least 18 years’ old
- Experience in food service and basic computer skills are required.
- Front of the House and Back of the House knowledge is a plus.
- Demonstrate confidence and model the behavior to lead. Supervisory experience is a plus
- Able to concentrate on fine detail with constant interruptions.
- Possess a comprehensive knowledge of dining room service techniques, resident relations, plate presentation, and sanitation.
- The ability to understand service flows and make recommendations for the seating of residents in the dining room and satisfactorily handling situations as they arise.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures and practices.
