What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life position at Westminster college Fulton?
We are seeking a Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life to provide vision, leadership, and direction for our fraternity and sorority community. The successful candidate will support the intellectual, personal, social, and leadership development of fraternity and sorority members through a full array of programs, services, and activities.
Responsibilities:
- Create policies and procedures and develop and administer budgets for the FSL unit.
- Provide strategic long-term planning for the unit and its operations, as well as the strength of the affiliated community and the strategic growth of chapters and councils in support of the mission of the Division of Student Affairs and the College.
- Work with staff and campus and community partners to ensure strong relationships and a shared commitment to the success of the fraternity and sorority community.
- Educate FSL student leaders about their respective chapter's national standards and policies.
- Collaborate with residence life to monitor residential spaces, advocate for the residential needs of Fraternity & Sorority Life, and resolve maintenance, cleaning, and safety issues in FSL-related residential facilities.
- Represent the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life at Welcome to Westminster events, SOAR, and other orientation sessions, meetings, or community events as designated by the Vice President.
Requirements:
- Masters' degree required, degree in student personnel or related field preferred.
- Experience in a higher education environment required. Preference will be given to those who have served in a similar role/capacity and have experience in supervising staff.
- Supervisory skills, organizational skills, leadership development skills, and public relations skills.
- Ability to self-motivate and work in a self-directed manner.
