POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Westminster Presbyterian Weekend Maintenance Technician provides direct support to the WPC facility during weekend worship services, special events, and during rentals of the facility that take place throughout the weekend or after business hours. The Maintenance Tech works under the direction of the Executive Director in the execution of all job duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Overall Responsibilities:
- Provides direct maintenance and custodial support of Church systems as needed during weekend events, rentals, and services.
- Prepares, opens, and closes WPC facilities as applicable based on the type of activity held.
- Ensures that entrances and building spaces are clean, orderly, and welcoming for members and guests.
- Assists security in the oversight of the WPC building and church grounds.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Maintains the satisfactory condition of the WPC facility and grounds, to include ensuring that all spaces are presentable and ready for Sunday worship and other events and activities as scheduled.
- Maintains all equipment in good working condition.
- Stays informed of the church calendar to adequately prepare in advance for upcoming needs and events.
- Performs maintenance work as necessary, requested, or assigned.
- Performs set up/tear down of all rooms for activities and special events as requested.
- Assists in janitorial duties as needed.
- Works on special projects, as needed.
- Complies with all WPC safety policies, practices, and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 1 year maintenance experience.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Ability to troubleshoot, think creatively about problem solving, and take initiative.
- Self-starter with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others, and to interact with members and guests in a cordial manner.
- Must maintain professional appearance and attitude while working with a diverse population.
- Must be able to work Sunday's (7:00 am - 1:00 pm)and after-hours special events.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
Physical Demands:
Generally extensive physical exertion is required. Prolonged periods of walking, bending, climbing, manual manipulations and use of hand tools. Must be able to regularly lift, move and carry items over 50lbs. Must be able to access and navigate property locations and the organization’s various offices.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 6 – 10 per week
