The Manager of Alumni Relations is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to engage and cultivate relationships with alumni of an organization or institution. This role plays a critical part in fostering a sense of community, camaraderie, and institutional affinity among alumni, while also leveraging their and their networks’ support and involvement to benefit Westminster. The Manager of Alumni Relations reports to the Senior Director of Stewardship. While this position does not supervise any direct reports, the nature of this position is managerial, and the successful candidate will seek to grow this position into a director-level position with other alumni staff.

This job operates primarily in an academic environment.
This is a full-time non-exempt position, averaging between 40 hours per week.
This position is not remote, although work-from-home may be allowed with supervisor approval

Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive alumni relations program that effectively engages and cultivates relationships with alumni and their networks.
- Plan and coordinate a variety of events and activities, such as alumni luncheons, and social gatherings, to foster growing relationships among alumni and between alumni and Westminster.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as advancement, events, and marketing, to integrate alumni engagement initiatives into broader institutional goals and campaigns for student recruitment and charitable giving.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date alumni records, ensuring that contact information, employment details, significant networking opportunities, and other relevant data are properly recorded.
- Assits with creating and distributing regular communications, such as newsletters and email updates, to keep alumni informed about news, events, and opportunities related to the organization.
- Assist with developing and implementing strategies to solicit alumni support, including student referrals, mentoring, and financial contributions.
- Begin plans for regional alumni chapters or affinity groups, providing leadership and guidance so that activities/purpose align with the Westminster’s mission and goals.
- Track and evaluate the success of alumni engagement efforts through metrics such as event attendance, participation rates, alumni feedback, referrals, and charitable contributions.
- Assist the Senior Director of Stewardship in managing the alumni relations budget and expenses.
- Assist the Senior Director of Stewardship and the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications in growing the Alumni Relations position into a director-level position.
- Execute other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Stewardship
The Alumni Relations Manager must demonstrate the following qualifications
- Familiarity with Westminster’s mission and distinctives and a commitment to Westminster’s mission
- Self-starter who is motivated by setting and achieving defined goals in support of Westminster’s mission
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to create new processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the Alumni network
- Ability to communicate to a broad and diverse constituency through various media
- Ability to coordinate with staff between multiple departments toward a common goal
- Experience with event planning and execution
- Experience with data-management in Salesforce or similar CRM
- Prudent management of budgets and expenses.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, tact, and diplomacy
