Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for cleaning rooms and common areas, disposing of trash, changing beds, and notifying maintenance of any issues.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITY:
- Able to perform housekeeping duties in accordance with established routines, work schedules and housekeeping standards for residents apartments, health center and the Westminster facility.
- Able to perform cleaning procedures in all assigned areas as outlined in policy and procedures manual.
- Able to operate housekeeping equipment in accordance with safety standards and manufactures derivatives.
- Able to assure the established infection control and universal precautions practices are maintained when performing housekeeping duties.
- Variety of housekeeping duties including vacuuming, mopping, surface cleaning, dusting, changing, and laundering linen.
- Attention to detail and experience with customer assistance and service are required.
- The right person is punctual, thorough but fast, and eager to learn.
- Able to work and move to different tasks as a team member.
- Able to perform all additional job tasks as required by manager.
- Able to communicate with residents, families, and other members of Westminster Village.
- Able to change bed lined when residents are unable to perform.
- Able to attend in-service training on housekeeping techniques, safety practices, fire emergency and simple bacteriological instruction as required.
- Maintains confidentiality of all resident information and assure residents rights and privacy at all times.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Ability to speak, print, read, and understand the English language.
- Able to follow daily job sequences.
- High School graduates or equivalent.
- Prior housekeeping experience preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMAND:
- Requires the ability to safely lift or carry up to 50 pounds
- Able to stand for 8 or more hours.
