Position: Nursing Manager
Classification: Exempt
Reports to: Manager of Weyrich Assisted Living
POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary purpose of this position is to assist in direct, supervise planning, organizing, developing the overall functions of the Nursing Services Department in a non-profit CCRC, in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times. The Nursing Services Department includes any direct care staff such as nurses and caregivers. The Nursing Coordinator works under the direction of the Manager of Weyrich Assisted Living.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBLITY:
- Assist the Manager of weyrich Assisted Living in planning, developing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the Nursing Services Department.
- On a temporary basis, able to assume the duties of Manager of weyrich Assisted Living during the Manager’s absence.
- Must be able to provide direct nursing care as necessary.
- Must be able to perform functions of a staff nurse as required.
- Must exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards residents.
- Must be knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the assisted living facility.
- Must have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department.
- Must perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to nursing care, quality assurance, supervisory responsibilities, infection control, patient rights, and safety and sanitation.
- Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information.
- Carries roles and responsibilities like that of a charge nurse.
- Schedule follows Monday through Friday position with some exceptions as needed.
- Leadership team members must participate in weekly activities with residents and are encouraged to spend time regularly engaging with residents.
- Spend time with team members to enhance relationships with team members and improve staff development.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current Arizona licensure
- CPR certification
- Must have a minimum of five years of experience in nursing
- Prefer three years of experience in skilled nursing and assisted living facility
PHYSICAL DEMAND:
- Must be able to continuously sit, stand and walk, squat, bend, and lift to 50 pounds.
