Timeline: June 1 – August 25
Hours: 15 hours/week
Compensation: $20.00 per hour
The Westmoor Club is seeking a Communications Intern who is invested in developing content creation skills and obtaining hands-on marketing experience. The Communications Intern will assist with the production of print and electronic marketing material using Canva. The ideal candidate will have strong writing skills, knowledge of social media marketing, and be able to manage multiple projects and deadlines. The Westmoor Club will help the Communications Intern create a valuable portfolio to enhance their resume.

As a Communications Intern, you will play an integral role in supporting the communications department. Your responsibilities will include curating content for newsletters, social media, signage, and event promotion. This is a great opportunity to gain practical experience in communications, marketing, and social media management while contributing to the daily operations of our Club.
Key Responsibilities:
- Staff Newsletter Creation: Collaborate with the Director of People and Culture to produce the Staff Newsletter every 3 weeks. This will involve content creation, editing, and layout design.
- Bulletin Board Curation: Manage and curate the bulletin board outside the Pro Shop, ensuring that it’s updated with current flyers, event announcements, and Polaroid photos.
- Event Photography & Social Media: Attend various Club events, capture high-quality photos, and create engaging Instagram reels that highlight the event and promote the Club’s culture.
- Napkin Ad Management: Create, update, and maintain the Napkin Ads displayed on napkin holders outside Beach Plum. Ensure past ads are removed, and new ones are added in a timely fashion.
- BBQ Menu Creation & Updates: Design and update the weekly BBQ Menu in Canva, ensuring it’s visually appealing and reflects the week’s offerings.
- Weekly Event Distribution: Update and create the “This Week” one-sheet with a list of events happening for the week. Distribute it every Sunday afternoon to the Wellness, Pro Shop, and Clubhouse Concierge teams.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Canva and basic graphic design.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a keen eye for design.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Creative mindset with the ability to come up with engaging and fresh content ideas.
- Previous internship or experience in communications or marketing is a plus, but not required.
