Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Description

Westmoor Mfg. Co., makers of Panhandle Slim, & Rock and Roll Denim, seek a reliable, conscientious, detail-oriented individual with a good work ethic to join our team.

Ideal candidates must be focused and organized, have a minimum of 5 years of A/P experience, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and must be proficient with MS Excel and have accounting software experience. In addition, the candidate must be a self-starter and work independently as well as in a team setting. The environment is casual yet fast-paced, and this person needs to be adaptive, professional, and willing to take on tasks as they develop.

Job Overview:

You will perform daily and weekly accounts payable activities such as processing vendor invoices, credit card reconciliation, and expense reports. Additionally, there are a variety of administrative functions to support the accounting department as well as scanning, filing, copying, and special projects.

Duties include, but will not be limited to:

• Match POs & receipts to invoices accurately and process for payment (3-way match)
• Weekly electronic payment batches (Check, ACH, & Vcard)
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
• Reconcile 35 credit card statements monthly
• Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries
• Reconcile payments and assist with month-end close
• Assist the CFO and controller with accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payables transactions
• Provide supporting documentation for audits
• Process non-inventory invoices: assign proper GL codes and route to appropriate approver(s)
• Accurate and timely data entry of wire payments
• Electronically file paid invoice copies with supporting documentation in a timely manner
• Participate in special projects and other duties as necessary
• Occasionally back-up reception desk duties if needed
  
  

Essential Qualifications, Knowledge, Abilities And Skills

• Minimum of five years of accounts payable experience required
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Excellent attention to detail is a must
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with automated payments systems
• Computer skills required: MS Office Suite, specifically Excel and Outlook
• ExpensePoint and RewardWorks experience a plus
• General knowledge of G/L accounting
• High school diploma or GED required
