What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registrar position at Westmoreland County Area Agency on Aging?
Westmoreland County is seeking applicants for the position of Registrar in the Election Bureau. The purpose of the position is to provide assistance to the director and to the public. The job duties include but are not limited to:
- Comprehending and interpreting a variety of documents including various voter registration lists including dead list, reinstatement list, purge list, absentee/mail-in voter list, etc.
- Ability to communicate effectively with the general public, election bureau personnel, attorneys, election candidates, elected officials, and others verbally and in writing.
- Ability to pass a typing test of 30 words per minute and a test consisting of mapping, filing, spelling, and arithmetic.
- Proficient in the use of Word and Excel.
- Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds.
- Must be able to prepare a variety of documents including voter registration reports, voter precinct master lists, etc. using the prescribed format and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style.
- Ability to operate multiple types of office equipment including computer terminal, typewriter, telephone, etc.
Applicants must be a high school graduate with , or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
