What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deputy Director of Elections position at Westmoreland County?
Westmoreland County is seeking applicants for the position of Deputy Director of Elections. This position is to assist in the management of the County Election Bureau; plans, directs, coordinates registration of voters; and certifies election results while adhering to all Federal and State regulations. Other job duties include coordination with Municipalities, School Districts, Political Parties, State and Federal Governments concerning the various contests to be decided during each Election cycle, processing new registrations and assign to correct voting district, and preparation and monitors absentee ballots.
Applicants must have one (1) to three (3) years working experience in elections, computers and knowledge of Election Code, or any acceptable combination of experience and training. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science is preferred or a related field, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
