Legal Secretary Trainee
The Office of the District Attorney is seeking applicants for the position of Legal Secretary Trainee. The purpose of this position is to provide comprehensive legal secretarial support.
Job requirements :
High school diploma or equivalent required. Three years professional, secretarial or administrative experience with 1 year in the legal field preferred. Excellent computer and communication skills required.
- Knowledge of legal terminology
- Knowledge of the operations and procedures of the criminal court system
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to type 60 wpm.
- Ability to take and transcribe legal dictation accurately and at an acceptable rate of speed
- Ability to present a finished document in the format and layout as instructed
- Ability to keep and maintain records
- Ability to work in a professional work setting
- Ability to work in a confidential setting
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Good phone and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and adjust to the ebb and flow of the daily workload
- Must pass Criminal background check
Hourly wage : $17.75 (with upgrade year 2 and 3 in addition to applicable union raises)
