Maintenance Worker II- Public Works
Westmoreland County is seeking applicants for two open positions in the Public Works Department for the position of Maintenance Worker II.
Job duties include but are not limited to :
- Performing general building and ground maintenance as required; maintain Courthouse lights, wiring, and other equipment, clean inside and outside of the Courthouse building; construct drop ceiling and partitions, shovel sidewalks, etc.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks.
- Must be able to maneuver objects weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
- Ability to operate a variety of carpentry, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing tools, including power tools. Ability to work effectively indoors and outdoors under varying weather and other conditions.
- Must be able to add, subtract multiply, and divide. Ability to comprehend and interpret a variety of documents including blueprints, wiring diagrams, maintenance manuals, etc. Ability to follow instructions and to communicate effectively with the general public, Courthouse personnel, and maintenance staff verbally and in writing.
- Candidate must pass Maintenance Worker II test.
High school graduate with one or two years building and grounds maintenance experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
