What are the responsibilities and job description for the Educational Consultant position at Westmoreland Intermediate Unit?
The Westmoreland Intermediate Unit is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Educational Consultant. The Educational Consultant is a member of the WIU Training and Consulting (TaC) team accountable for providing leadership, professional development, technical assistance, intensive consultation and the interpretation of Federal and State Special Education Policy and Regulations to administrators, educators and parents regarding the implementation of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and in supporting the initiatives of the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Members of the TaC team provide the most current, effective instructional strategies to meet the needs of each student in one to three of the following areas contained in Pennsylvania’s Comprehensive System of Professional Development (CSPD): assistive technology, autism, behavior management, low incidence disabilities/least restrictive environment, multi-tiered systems of support, and transition services.
Minimum Education: BA/BS and valid PDE Certification in Special Education or related field; Specialized Certifications preferred
Minimum Experience: 3-5 years directly related experience

Additional requirements for this position include the following clearances: Act 34, 114 (federal criminal history) and 151 PA Child Abuse History. Act 126 training, School Personnel Health Record (physical), and TB test result are also required.
