Westmoreland Mechanical Testing & Research is looking to fill our Test Technician role. In this position you will perform lot release testing on a variety of materials. You will also be involved in post-test inspection of test specimens. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up laboratory equipment and instrumentation required for tests, research, or process control
- Perform a variety of quality, customized tests which will analyze materials to determine strength, stability, purity, chemical content, and other characteristics, in order to identify any performance/reliability issues with the material
- Organize and maintain the test lab
- Safely operate tools such as a band saw, grinder, sander, polisher and mounting machinery
- Maintain detailed records of test results
- Performs other duties and tasks as assigned
Qualifications and Skills:
- US Citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED required
- Willingness to learn
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong time management skills
- The ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Mechanically inclined individuals preferred
- Experience working with blueprints preferred
- Ability to stand, sit, or move around for prolonged periods of time
