POSITION SUMMARY:
Supervises activities of the production/inventory control of the department which includes personnel in production, client trayline, catering and storeroom. Activities involve planning, ordering, storage, and processing (preparation, cooking, and baking of foods); implements established policies and procedures forareas of responsibility; coordinates with other department sections. Follows standard practices and complies with regulatory requirements. Supervises and assists with care and maintenance of section equipment and facilities. Develops, implements, administers, and modifies programs to maintain the department through effective utilization of personnel and materials. Plans master time schedules in order to manage labor hours. Plans master menus in order to manage materials. Utilizes approved techniques for management of aggressive client behavior to insure the safety of clients and staff. Fulfills position duties using value-based principles in relationships with clients/co-workers/others and practices stewardship of resources in order to strengthen Westsides caring mission
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized nutrition plans tailored to the needs of residents.
- Provide health coaching to residents and their families regarding dietary choices and nutrition education.
- Supervise the dietary department staff, ensuring adherence to safety and hygiene standards.
- Manage inventory and budgeting for nutritional supplies, optimizing resources effectively.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to assess residents' nutritional status and adjust plans as necessary.
- Conduct regular training sessions for staff on nutrition-related topics and best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of residents' dietary needs, preferences, and any changes in their health status.
Experience
- Proven experience in a nutrition services role, preferably within an assisted living or healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of physiology as it relates to nutrition and dietary management.
- Experience supervising staff and managing a team effectively.
- Familiarity with budgeting processes related to food service operations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clear guidance and support to both staff and residents.
- A background in health coaching or counseling is highly desirable.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
