Swim Lesson Supervisor
Westtown School is seeking 2-3 experienced swim lesson supervisors to help facilitate swim lessons during the 2025 season. Our season will begin on April 28th and run through July 18th. Swim lesson supervisors should have extensive knowledge of the SwimFast lesson curriculum and prior experience implementing and perfecting those skills with young swimmers of all ages and skill levels. The regular hours will be between 2:45 pm and 7:00 pm, depending on the individual 2-week session.

Essential Responsibilities
Implement the curriculum for the swim lesson instructors;- Provide constructive feedback to the swim lesson instructors;
- Communicate effectively with swimmer’s parents on topics such as instruction, curriculum, evaluation, and concerns;
- Maintain safety and order on deck and in the pool while lessons are being conducted;
- Support and assist instructors with reluctant swimmers;
- Assist with training instructors on proper methods and best practices;
- Assign students to appropriate classes before each session begins;
- Assist in scheduling instructors for their different roles during each session.
Qualifications
5 or more years of experience in teaching swim lessons or swim coaching- Lifeguarding Certified (CPR, AED, First Aid)
- Ability to provide constructive feedback to instructors of various experience levels
- Ability to effectively communicate with the program director, parents, swim instructors, and students
- Ability to evaluate swimmers and assign them to the appropriate level given their current age and skill set
- Ability to assist instructors with challenging swimmers, at times offering different ways for the instructor to communicate with the young swimmers
- Ability to lift 25 - 50 lbs.
- Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid. Must be able to assist swimmers in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury) and possess the strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of campers.
