Outside Sales Representative

Summary

For over 130 years, locally owned Westwater Supply has been providing wholesale plumbing, heating and water system products and supplies to customers throughout Ohio. We are growing and looking to hire a full-time Outside Sales Associate who will be based out of our Columbus, Ohio branch facility. The Outside Sales Associate will work closely with inside sales and other members of the sales team to grow existing customers, develop and maintain a sales pipeline, create new customer relationships, and drive increasing customer satisfaction.

Hours: 7:00am – 4:00pm
Days: Monday – Friday

Job Responsibilities include:

• Manage strong business relationships and increase sales with existing customers
• Develop new customer relationships by maintaining and consistently filling a sales pipeline
• Actively research and evaluate customer needs, generate and qualify leads, and build long-lasting relationships with customers and vendors
• Research new and non-stocked products to meet customer needs based on knowledge of products and project applications
• Manage appointments and follow through activities for sales leads and quote material to required building and project specifications
• Work closely with the sales and distribution teams to drive revenue and emphasize the services and values provided
• Maintain high communication and follow up with existing and prospective customers, and assist the Inside and Counter Sales teams with managing project quotes and orders
• Attend industry meetings, sales events and trainings to keep abreast of the latest developments and building requirements
• Meet personal and team sales targets
• Report and provide feedback to management using financial statistical data
• Maintain and expand client database within an assigned territory

Education Level

High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred)

Must Haves

• 5 years of plumbing, HVAC and building industry related experience
• Proven sales experience with strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to follow an established sales process and manage a sales pipeline
• Self-motivated, driven to succeed, organized and ability to complete tasks in a timely manner
• Excellent attendance history, punctuality and reliability
• A neat and orderly professional appearance
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Good To Have

• Prior sales and customer service experience
• Prior wholesale distribution experience
• Prior experience using Epicor Eclipse software
