Ministry Area Purpose:
Operations (Accounting, Data, IT, Facilities) exists to serve the body of Westwood with innovation, transparency, and objectivity.
Role:
Assist the Accounting Manager and Accounting Team in the process of learning and developing financial processes and procedures that serve both the ministry staff and the leadership of Westwood.
Responsibilities:
- Join in the team’s current task of developing written processes and procedures to improve consistency and efficiency in accounts receivable and accounts payable daily, weekly and monthly tasks.
- Assist in month end close process
- Work closely with Accounting Manager in projects/tasks (budget planning and reporting, annual audit, fiscal year end)
- Support Accounting Manager in volunteer recruitment, scheduling, training, and relationship building.??
- Learn and utilize industry leading financial software including Xero, PCO (Planning Center Online), Bill Spend, Bill AP & AP, Martus, Square, in addition to working with the Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
- Attend and participate in All-Staff and department training and development opportunities.?
- Participate in regular check-ins and a mid-year/end of year evaluation
- Carry out other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

Relationships:
- Reports to Accounting Manager
- Collaborates with Accounting Associates?& Volunteers
- Build relationships with operations team, leadership, staff, donors and vendors
Requirements
- One to two years accounting experience with accrual-based accounting or pursing accounting/finance secondary education
- Organized and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under deadlines and maintain attention to detail
- Good communications skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Ability to relate to other Westwood staff and church attenders at large
- Endorse and support Westwood’s Statement of Faith
- Someone who lives a life that honors God in heart, actions, and relationships, with the goal of becoming more like Jesus
- Participate in required team events: Orientation (September 2nd, 2025) and Intensives (October 13th-15th, 2025 and March 2nd-4th, 2026)
